Mission Partners

St Johns' as part of its Christian practice tithes part of its income. We currently support the following organisations financially

Nest Network India

Rajan & Carmen served with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) for a little over 17 years in Pune & Lonavala, near Mumbai. They did an extensive training in the UK, which is when they connected with St. John’s, Dukinfield. Rajan did a specialized course in the area of Teaching & Preaching, and part of his internship was at St. John’s.

In 2008, they felt the Lord lead them to the IT city of Bangalore to free-lance with the churches. Training programs differed from church to church depending on the need of the local church, mostly encompassing areas related to:  Discipleship, Leadership, Administration. As a result of running 5 schools in training teachers and preachers of the Word, Rajan had many invitations from various groups of leaders to conduct focussed workshops on ‘How to put together sermons?’

In 2011, they were connected to one of the pioneering Vineyard churches and Rajan & Carmen served as one of the elders in that church. With the Pastor having to leave, without finding a suitable replacement, Rajan felt the call to step up and offer his expertise to this one church, which needed leadership. So, since June ’15, they have been the interim Pastors at the Vineyard Church in Bangalore, and in Jan. ’16 took up full-time serving the Lord through this church.

Besides this, Rajan is pursuing his D.Min. (Doctor of Ministry) degree with a local seminary; and Carmen helps teach at the school where their two children, Tryphena & Theo are studying.

While overseeing this church and his studies, Rajan also frequently travels to conduct workshops and/or teach from the Word to those deserving.

Open Doors

Open Doors purpose is to strengthen and equip the body of Christ living under or facing restriction and persecution because of their faith in Jesus Christ, and to encourage their involvement in world evangelism by:

  • Providing Bibles and literature, media, leadership training, socio-economic development and through intercessory prayer;

  • Preparing the body of Christ living in threatened or unstable areas to face persecution and suffering; and

  • Educating and mobilising the body of Christ living in the free world to identify with threatened and persecuted Christians and be actively involved in assisting them.

We do so, because we believe that when one member suffers, all members suffer with him (1 Corinthians 12:26), all doors are open and God enables His body to go into all the world and preach the gospel.

Tear Fund

When a community lifts itself out of poverty, everything changes. Poverty does more than exhaust, starve, trap and kill people. It destroys their sense of worth, limits their horizons, robs people of the chance to reach their full potential. Tearfund’s call is to follow Jesus where the need is greatest. We long for new life and a new sense of worth for people. We do whatever it takes to end poverty and rebuild poor communities. We work through local churches, because they're Jesus’ body on earth, ready to care for the whole person - and the whole community - inside and out.
